ACCELERATED LEARNING DRAWING DAY

The Colne Community School in Brightlingsea was gripped by a wave of intense creativity as eighteen 16 to 18 year old G.C.S.E. and A2 students took part in a day long exercise aimed at extending their drawing skills, boosting their confidence and enhancing their examination portfolios.

The content of the course was based largely upon the professional working practices of Art AST Richard Taylor.  Students used graphite powder and charcoal to produce images of white balls that nearly jumped off the paper.  Next they were challenged to create drawings of ornamental gourds and cut peppers which were enlarged way beyond life size creating some stunning images.

The day ended with the biggest challenge of all, creating a drawing of a group of white objects on a sheet of A1 paper.  All students rose to the challenges admirably and produced a mass of stunning artwork that is shortly to go on display around the school before joining the rest of their work in their personal portfolios.
