For an agreement to work effectively, it must be valued as a working and evolving document that reflects the aspirations of home and school.
All partners have active roles to play in making it work.

However, the major responsibility for promoting the vision of partnership advocated by the agreement rests clearly with the governing body, headteacher and the senior management team. They need to generate a whole school commitment to ensure the continued active support of pupils and parents for the agreement.

Below are links to suggestions about roles in this ongoing process for:

  • Governors

  • The headteacher and senior management team

    as well as on:

  • Monitoring and reviewing the agreement

All those who manage the agreement should also be aware of the range of ways in which the agreement may not be used.
