Schools throughout the country have different approaches to parental involvement. This section of the site offers some examples of, and case studies on, ways in which it has been used, and the effects which parental involvement has had.

  • Nottingham Amber Project, helping minority families gain a better understanding of the education system and providing vocational guidance for the parents themselves.
  • Clutch Clubs: helping parents learn ICT skills whilst at the same time putting something back into the local community.
  • Suffolk LEA has Beacon Status for its work on partnerships with parents.
  • Story Sacks projects are an excellent way of encouraging parents and carers to get involved in developing both their own literacy skills and those of their children.
  • The Garibaldi School has a range of projects dedicated to improving parental involvement, including a community ICT centre.
  • Rush Common primary school in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, has a system of parents' surgeries to improve communications between home and school.
