Welcome to the Personalised Learning website

personalised learning, pupils, teachers and parents
This website summarises recent thinking about personalised learning in schools in practice and policy to date. The intention is to provide headteachers, teachers, support staff, parents and governors with a shared understanding for the development of personalised learning.

    Personalised learning
Personalised Learning – A Practical Guide has been developed to support schools in implementing personalised learning; to help them move to a system based on progression, underpinned by assessment for learning, and with pupils supported where necessary, with relevant interventions such as one-to-one support. This new Guide is designed to help school leaders, School Improvement Partners and teachers to explore key aspects of personalised teaching and learning - such as target setting, focussed assessment and supporting children’s wider needs - in an-easy-to-use-format which encourages the evaluation of priorities for further development.  The Government has made £1.6 billion available for schools between 2008-2011 to spend on personalised learning and special educational needs.
