Training module 7 Starter activities for teaching designing
Overview
Objectives
To promote the use of starter activities as a means to create purposeful and challenging beginnings to design and technology learning.
To develop understanding and experience of a range of different starters that are linked to the design and technology Framework teaching objectives for Years 7, 8 and 9.

Preparation and planning
Photocopy handout 7.1 onto stiff paper or card and cut it into two labels: High chalenge and Low chalenge, which should be mounted on the walls at opposite ends of the room.
Photocopy handout 7.2 onto card and cut up for distribution at the start of the session.
