Family Learning Case Studies: Clifton Partnership

Summary - family learning and parental involvement. The Clifton EiCAZ Partnership shares the benefit of their experiences along with their aray of effective materials.

‘Time for Rhyme’

‘Time for Rhyme’ is a project designed by David Brook, the originator of Books and Beyond, at the University of Wolverhampton. During a visit to the Zone in the Autumn Term 2002 to discuss changes to the Books and Beyond training package, David asked if the Zone would be interested in trialling ‘Time for Rhyme’, which promotes young children learning nursery rhymes and developing phonemic awareness. Details of this and many other case studies can be found on our website.

A Trainer's CD containing ‘Time for Rhyme’, ‘Books and Beyond’ and ‘Tots Times for Rhyme’ is also available. We are happy to send copies upon request (a small contribution towards cost would be appreciated).

Other Family Learning Courses

We have a raft of tried and tested Family Learning programmes in addition to Time for Rhyme. With our ‘Active Kids’ course, we are currently in the process of arranging 'training for trainers' sessions in order to enable some of our parents who did the courses to deliver Active Kids/CSLA out of hours activities with the support of our Community Sports Tutors.

We also have a progression course ‘Community Sports Leader Award’ which is nationally recognised.

We would be happy to share any of our courses with others who are interested - I'm sure a reciprocal arrangement would benefit us all.

Please feel free to contact us.
