Submitting CFR data
The submission deadline date for CFR 2007-08 will be July 18th 2008. The sections below provide details for schools and LAs on how the data can be submitted and the appropriate formats for data.

Intermediary Systems
From 2008 the Department will not be sending out the intermediary system on CD-Roms, instead we will be making it available via a download from the link below. Any school will still be able to use the web based form to submit CFR data to their LA and this can be loaded into the LA intermediary system. The files produced from the intermediary system will be in an XML format. So please be prepared for the excel feature to not be available next year, and work towards being XML compliant by April 1st 2008.www.dcsf.gov.uk/datacollection/downloadpageCFR.htm
CFR 2006-07 External specification
This specification defines the data, validation, and error messages associated with the CFR school data entered by the school (or the LA on behalf of the school). As well as being used by the DCSF this specification has been written as an external document for schools, LA's and third party software suppliers.(Word 608 KB)

CFR 2006-07 Credibility checks
In addition to the data validation carried out within the LA intermediary software, there will also be additional creditability checks carried out upon the loading of CFR data to the DCSF as detailed in this document.
