Guidance on School Companies [FMSiS]
This guidance (around 15 pages), was published in January 2003, and provides assistance with the establishment and operation of companies under sections 11 and 12 of the Education Act 2002 and subsequent regulations, The School Companies Regulations 2002 and The School Companies (Private Finance Initiative Companies) Regulations 2002.
The guidance is intended for schools, local authorities and others interested in how school companies will work. It explains the policy intentions behind the legislative provisions and offers some guidance on how to set up and operate a school company. It is not, however, intended to be a definitive statement of the law.
